In 1994, Mike Mercer Sr. started a small business with the simple goal of offering comprehensive sales and service support, to the thermal - processing industry.  Today, after relocation and an expansion, Mike Mercer Sr.’s venture has evolved into two flourishing companies - Mercer Technologies Inc. and Midwest Vacuum Pumps Inc.  Mercer Tech and Midwest Vacuum got their start in Brazil, Indiana, it was there that Mercer Tech began to earn the reputation as an excellent provider of furnace rebuilds and field service.  Midwest Vacuum meanwhile, was dedicated to the supply, repair and rebuild of vacuum pumping systems. In 1999, the two companies moved to a 27,000 square foot facility in Terre Haute, Indiana, paving the way for an increased scope of service. A family - run business, Mike Sr. serves as president of Mercer Tech/Midwest Vacuum with his son, Mike Jr., serving as Vice President of Operations for Mercer Technologies Inc. and Steve Nees as Vice President of Operations for Midwest Vacuum Pumps Inc. The three have over 80 combined years of experience in the heat - treating and pump industries.  Midwest Vacuum Pumps Inc. repairs a wide variety of vacuum pumping systems, including, roughing pumps, boosters, diffusion pumps, rotary vane pumps, jet ring pumps, gear boxes, pressure blowers, rotary feeders, centrifugal blowers and more.  Its factory - trained technicians are capable of rebuilding equipment regardless of conveyance (oxygen, liquid or dry product). Midwest can also supply most required parts. Midwest even offers an exchange program of great benefit to its customers.
